INDIANA REAL TIME TRAFFIC
How will this help me with my travels in Indiana?
This Web site will be most useful to you before you head out the door and into traffic. With a few clicks of your mouse, you'll be able to view real-time camera images, the location and severity of reported crashes, work zones, and other incidents that are being monitored by the INDOT Traffic Management Centers (TMC), and what is currently being displayed on Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Travel Time Signs (TTS). You'll be able to see how well traffic is flowing in many locations and where reported incidents are located, enabling you to make decisions about which route to travel or perhaps delay your trip until conditions improve. This Web site will provide additional traffic information in the future as additional cameras and vehicle detection sites are deployed throughout the Interstate Highway System in Indiana. These Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) technologies play a key role in improving the safety and efficiency of the roadway system, saving motorists' lives, time, and money by better managing the use of existing highways and providing information to motorists to assist them in making better travel decisions. INDOT's ITS initiative is known as TrafficWise.
