Safety Professional of the Year Award

Steve Defibaugh, a respected Loss Prevention Manager for Marvin Johnson & Associates, Inc., won this award in 1994. He passed away at age 47, and the IMTA Board members then voted to rename this award in Steve’s honor. Awardees must attend the awards banquet to be eligible.

Rules and Regulations

• The nominee’s company must be an IMTA member, and the nominee must be a member of the IMTA Safety and Maintenance Council.
  
• Any person responsible for supervising truck safety activities is eligible.
  
• Previous award winners are ineligible.
  
• Judging will be based on professional achievements, success in advancing highway and industrial safety, relationship and cooperation with government officials, and methods of solving safety problems facing the nominee’s fleet.
  
• Engagement in state trucking association safety activities and other safety professional organizations is also highly important.
  
• MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND SMC AWARDS BANQUET.
