In 2011, Indiana enacted a no texting-while-driving law, and in July 2020, our state became the 22nd one to approve and implement a hands-free law. IMTA stands behind these legislative steps. That’s why we’ve committed to utilizing our resources and knowledge to provide driving education to Hoosiers at schools, youth camps, the state fair, and more. Purchase Specialty Plates for a Great Cause​

Our specialty license plates fund this program, so schools don’t have to. Your purchase of an IMTA specialty plate allows us to travel to summer camps and high schools to set up demonstrations and shed light on the dangers of distracted driving. Plus, they directly remind drivers on the road to look ahead, not at their phones.

For Low-Digit Plates

Low-digit plates may be available for an additional fee. The BMV fee is due at initial issuance and again at the beginning of the new plate life cycle after 5 years. To complete your request for a low-digit plate, the BMV requires that you produce a signed, low-digit release form from the IMTA. Email us to request.
