2024 Call to Action
Dear Indiana Motor Truck Association (IMTA) Member,
You’re probably reading this and asking yourself,” didn’t we just talk about the TIPAC campaign last month”? Well, you’re correct, we did. This communication is coming to you close to a month earlier than usual. And that’s because we are about to see one of the highest profile, aggressive campaign seasons on record, especially with this year’s Governor’s race. It’s unusual to have five well-funded Republican candidates in the race, all of whom expect to have a path to victory. We are starting our campaign early in hopes that you will contribute early. With the May 7th primary looming, the most intense campaigning for Governor is beginning now and will continue through the end of April. If you plan to contribute to TIPAC this year, we are asking that you make your contribution as soon as possible.
The 2024 legislative session will last a maximum of ten weeks and might end even sooner than that. Once the session ends, the state legislative campaigns will begin. Several state legislators have resigned or retired over the past few months, so there will be several open seats and seats held by appointed members who will now have to run. Our ability to provide TIPAC support to the candidates who understand the trucking industry is critical to our long-term stability and success.
The 2023 TIPAC contributors delivered the most successful campaign results in the history of our association. We were able to contribute as needed yet stay well positioned to contribute as we begin the 2024 campaign season.
TIPAC is an ongoing focus at the IMTA. Every contribution is important and vital to the success of our advocacy efforts. Those efforts benefit ALL members. Last year’s contributions were 85.6% to goal. This year the goal is $75,000.
A contribution form is enclosed if you are receiving this via USPS mail. It is also available HERE online if you are receiving this electronically. Please support this effort. If mailing checks, make payable to TIPAC. We deeply appreciate your contribution in support of the trucking industry here in Indiana.
TIPAC is a non-partisan, voluntary, political action committee. Contact us with any questions you may have.
