Support Trucking Industry Political Action Campaign (TIPAC) Effective political pressure requires Advocacy. Advocacy means several things, actually many things: public and political affairs, government relations, coalition participation, monitoring, tracking, and much more. Add in capabilities to engage targeted online grassroots and it all gets quite expensive.
As we work to reinforce our political strength and grassroots networking capabilities for the challenges ahead, we encourage you to learn more and contribute to TIPAC we know the return on investment will be well worth it.
A word from Dan Frieden, Chairman of TIPAC: March, 2021
What a political year we had in 2020! Whether you liked the outcome of the elections or not, you likely agree that who gets elected matters, and that applies to all levels of government.
Indiana’s 2020 election cycle drew huge sums of money into the campaigns for Governor, Attorney General, and key leadership positions in the General Assembly. The Republican’s retained control of all statewide offices and retained their super majorities, losing one seat in the Senate and picking up four seats in the House.
The election outcome stakes were high in that, this year, lawmakers will redraw legislative boundaries for Indiana’s nine congressional districts and 150 seats in the General Assembly. How those boundaries are drawn will affect control of the legislature and congressional seats for the next decade.
IMTA’s predictably generous contributors brought us to within 85% of our goal in 2020. We are appreciative and thankful. This legislative session is much different this year with legislators spread throughout several locations and much of the testimony being received virtually, but business is still getting done. It is a budget year so as always; we are vigilant regarding how the money will be spent and from where it will come.
The session will conclude at the end of April. At that point, your TIPAC dollars will once again go to work as we provide support to the legislators who support the trucking industry. There are 21 first term legislators so we have plenty of new people to meet. Successful advocacy benefits all IMTA members. Every contribution is important and is vital to the success of our advocacy efforts. We truly appreciate your contribution in support of TIPAC. TIPAC is a non-partisan, voluntary, political action committee. Please contribute today.
