The Indiana Motor Truck Association (IMTA) and the Safety and Maintenance Council have instituted an award for maintenance directors whose accomplishments in the field of maintenance and technology is exemplary. The Maintenance Professional of the Year is designed to promote the high standards in the maintenance profession. The winner each year will be honored at the annual Safety and Maintenance Council Awards Banquet.
The Eligibility Requirements are:
1. The individual who has excelled in the field of fleet and commercial motor vehicle maintenance will be presented this award.
2. Nominations that are submitted and are unsuccessful for that year will be eligible again the next year. Award winners will not be eligible for nomination again.
3. Nominees must have been employed by an IMTA member company for the previous calendar year, performing duties directly related to fleet and commercial vehicle maintenance.
4. Nominations must be made by the employer.
5. The nominee and his or her employer may be required to produce records verifying the qualifications of the nominee. All records and documentation will be held in strict confidence.
6. IMTA will appoint a team of judges to make the selection for the award. All nomination forms will be made anonymous.
7. Judging will be based on the professional qualification and performance of the nominee and their success in maintaining the highest degree of safety and operating efficiency of the fleet.
8. Must be available to attend the SMC Awards Banquet.
Nominations for this award must be made by the employer. Persons employed in the fleet maintenance operation for a motor carrier or allied member of the Indiana Motor Truck Association are eligible for nomination. Please submit exhibits highlighting the career accomplishments of the maintenance professional as well as any IMTA Safety and Maintenance Council activities and events.
