About Rebecca Brewster - Rebecca Brewster is President and Chief Operating Officer of the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI). ATRI is the trucking industry’s not-for-profit research organization, whose mission is research to improve the trucking industry’s safety and productivity. Rebecca is the recipient of several awards including Fleet Owner magazine’s 2016 Dozen Outstanding Women in Trucking, the 2013 Influential Woman in Trucking award from the Women in Trucking Association, and the 2010 J.R. Bob Halladay award given by the 50 state trucking associations. Rebecca has been with ATRI for over 29 years. Prior to that, she was the Public and Governmental Affairs Director for the Cary, North Carolina Chamber of Commerce and a Fleet Analyst with Moen, Inc. Rebecca has a B.A. in English from Wofford College and she is a Fellow of the North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership.

Trucking expert, Jonathan Starks will share current trends and what to expect in the trucking industry for 2023 and beyond.
Jon is the CEO and CIO at FTR. He has spent his entire career in the freight transportation sector having joined FTR in 2001. Jon's expertise includes freight modeling, modal analysis, fleet characteristics, and equipment demand. He is directly responsible for producing FTR's Freight-cast transportation model, producing more than 13 million datapoints and 85,000 forecasted items each and every month.
In addition to his work on freight analysis he assists with forecasting the equipment markets, dealing with the demand outlook for medium-duty trucks, heavy-duty trucks, and freight railcars. He is the secondary developer of FTR's Economically Derived Demand model for medium-duty trucks (founder Ed Graham's initial work was vital to the process). Jon is also a regular presenter at FTR's Annual Freight Transportation Conference and at company meetings and industry events. Jon graduated from Marian University with his BA degree in Business Administration. He currently resides in Bedford, Ind. with his wife, Amanda, and their 3 daughters. |

About Brad Merritt - Brett Merritt is the Vice President of the On-Highway Engine Business for Cummins. In this role, Brett leads the profit and loss of the $8 Billion dollar On-Highway Business. Brett’s entire 20+ year career has been in the automotive and commercial vehicle industry.
Brett started at Cummins in 2009 as the On-Highway Sales Director for Cummins Emissions Solutions and later was promoted to the General Manager of North America. Brett then transferred to the Engine Business leading the Global Medium Duty On-Highway Business starting in 2012 where he progressed to his position over the entire On-Highway Business. Prior to Cummins, Brett started his career working a variety of cross functional roles in the automotive emissions space with Arvin and later ArvinMeritor. He then worked in various manufacturing, sales and general management roles with Valspar and Columbus Components Group. About Jerad Childress - Jerad Childress is a transportation attorney and Managing Partner of Childress Law, PLLC. Jerad represents transportation and manufacturing clients, including some of the nation’s largest motor carriers, on various regulatory compliance matters and before the many DOT agencies, including the FMCSA, NHTSA, and FAA. Jerad regularly counsels carriers and manufacturers on technological advances in the industry, including Electronic Logging Devices, and has conducted numerous third-party reviews of ELD platforms. He also serves on third party auditor teams appointed by NHTSA to oversee major auto manufacturers’ compliance with obligations under the Safety Act. About Dr. Bhattacharyya - Dr. Kuntal Bhattacharyya is an Associate Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at the Scott College of Business. Dr. B holds a Ph.D. in Operations Management from Kent State University and an MBA in Management from the University of Akron. In addition, he is also a certified risk manager (CRM).
Dr. Bhattacharyya also serves as Program Director of the Logistics 4.0 Innovation Hub @ Plainfield and sits on the Executive Board of Conexus Indiana Logistics Council as well as on the Board of Directors for Made @ Plainfield, a Hendricks County Initiative to bridge the academic and professional worlds.
